Lucky Emma Watson

Emma Watson is fast becoming a style icon and has my vote for the style category of the British Fashion Awards (vote here!) Over the last year or two she has developed her taste and become more involved with fashion. She has collaborated with People Tree to design ethical clothing; modeled for Burberry; sat front-row in Chanel's catwalk shows; and walked down red carpets in dresses to die for. I also have to mention the pixie crop haircut, which to say suits her is an understatement. I never realized how beautiful her features are until all that long hair was cut away.

Now that the filming of Harry Potter is over and she's studying history at Brown in America, I hope she won't fade away from the fashion scene. The thought of her wearing jeans and a university hoodie is no fun! However, once the student life is over she does want to pursue her acting and also says: "I just don't want to limit myself, there's so many different things I'm interested in."

I'm off to see her as Hermione tonight in the latest Harry Potter film, and I also need to get my hands on this month's issue of America's Marie Claire which has the most stunning pictures of her (below) captured by the wonderful Tesh and styled by Nina Garcia.

Watch this short video of her on the shoot for Marie Claire. She should model more often!

I Heart Looklet.com!

Move over Lookbook, I have a new styling website obsession: Looklet.com. Rather than dressing myself up and striking a pose, I now have access to styling beautiful models with a wardrobe that Carrie Bradshaw would envy!
This seriously addictive website lets you select a model, background, lighting effects and most importantly, an outfit created from the huge range of designer, high-street and vintage clothing. The clothing is continually added to, with items that are available to purchase this season. So if you fancied, you could buy the outfit you styled.
It is interesting to see the total number of "hearts" I get from different users around the world, which indicates the popularity of a look. You can also follow different stylists that you like and compete for the website's Look of the Day.
I have so far created six diverse looks and it will be interesting to see if the practice will improve my styling ability. Watch out Grace Woodward!
Here are some of my looks so far:

More Illustration Love

Illustration is a form of art that I get excited about. My bedroom walls feature reproduced vintage posters for french shows and my beautiful framed Danny Roberts fashion illustration, as previously posted.
My weekend trip to London next month will therefore include a visit to Somerset House to see Dior Illustrated: René Gruau and the Line of Beauty. The images I have seen so far are so simple but also absolutely stunning. The exhibition will feature original artwork for magazines, Christian Dior perfumes and Dior Haute Couture dresses. I can't wait to see them all.
I am also happy to see that the hugely anticipated film Black Swan has released four limited edition illustrated posters. The film is due to be released in February next year and stars Natalie Portman who plays a troubled ballet dancer (dressed in Rodarte costumes, which I'm excited to see!) I love the art deco look of the posters and how clever they are, particularly the one on the right with Natalie's arms turning into the swan's feathers.
